Resilience with Boulder’s Youth

Picture
In 2014, the City of Boulder was selected to participate in the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities initiative.  The project aims to support cities that have experienced natural disasters in exploring and developing strategies around sudden and long-term issues, such as flood, wildfire, disease outbreak, and drought. As a first step in this process, the City sought to understand people’s perceptions of resilience in Boulder. The following organizations - Growing Up Boulder, Inside the Greenhouse, and EcoArts Connections - worked on a number of projects in Boulder with the cities youth to understand young people's ideas around resilience and how they could embody the values of what it means to be resilient.
