Youth and Community Participation in Planning Burke Park
Growing Up Boulder has completed an exciting collaboration with the City of Boulder Parks & Planning and Horizons K-8 School to engage students and community in visioning the design of Burke Park. GUB assisted with the implementation of a Horizons "Make A Difference" class, a 4-week course from October 22-November 15th, 2012, where students explored their biohabitat, participated in design charrettes and model making, and presented their ideas to the city as a whole. The project was followed by a CU Environmental Design design/build studio.
