Boulder Civic Area Implementation 2016+

April, 2017 - Pedestrian Bridge in Civic Center

Daily Camera Article

May 2018 - Civic Area Celebration

To celebrate the renovated Central Park and the exciting new Creekside Play Area, Growing Up Boulder and Boulder Parks and Recreation had an afternoon of free family-friendly activities, lawn games, delicious local food trucks and live music from Caribou Mountain Collective (Bluegrass/Roots). This event's purpose was to show case the new park and play area, and also to teach the community about how children and youth voice was implemented in the final design of the park.

Check out our project pages for more information on the 2012-1014 engagements that were done in and outside of the classroom:

TEDx Adventure Event

On July 14th, Mara Minzter, the director of Growing Up Boulder, hosted a TEDx Adventure at the renovated Civic Area next to the Boulder Public Library! Check out the video below to learn about the event and hear children's input about the project.
